Friday, March 21 — The city of Lansing is seeking citizens to fill vacancies on several boards and commissions. The application deadline for June appointments is May 1.

Appointments are open to Lansing residents, and some positions require applicants live in a specific ward or have experience in a particular business or trade.

The city has nearly 40 different boards and commissions the public can serve on, ranging from corridor improvement authorities to the Lansing Board of Water and Light. A full list of boards and vacancies is available here.

“Input from our citizens is crucial to the process of good government,” Mayor Virg Bernero said in statement today. “Serving on a City board of commission is a great way to get engaged in local government and to have a real impact on Lansing’s future.”

An application is available here or by calling the Mayor’s Office at (517) 483-4141 or emailing joseph.mcdonald@lansingmi.gov.
