Lansing City Council postpones Abigail vote

Posted
MONDAY, June 16 — Lansing City Council will wait until June 30 to determine the outcome of the Abigail Building on the former campus of the Michigan School for the Blind.

Council will consider a plan to renovate the historic building to create 44 low and moderate income housing units. The issue was originally set for a vote during Monday's meeting, but it was not formally moved out of the Committee of the Whole.

Lansing City Council also unanimously approved funding allocations of $2,000 for the upcoming Men Making A Difference Youth Festival and $1,050 in funding for William Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors Charity Event on June 30.

Councilwomen Tina Houghton and Jessica Yorko were absent from Monday's meeting.
