Seltz new Ingham County Animal Control director

Posted

The new director of the Ingham County Animal Control seems like he can handle just about anything.

He can fly a helicopter and handle alligators and venomous snakes.

He’s patient; he rescued a dog that had its head stuck in a pipe for more than two hours in 100-degree heat.

And he’s somehow trained his 10-year-old Boxer rescue, Brody, to stop eating the house (no small feat).

Seltz replaces Jamie McAloon Lampman who retired in February. The Grand Rapids native has been director of the Leon County Division of Animal Control in Tallahassee, Fl. He’s worked as a field manager for Caddo Parish Animal Services in Shreveport, La. He’s also been an animal control officer and reserve deputy for the sheriff’s department in Kent County.

“I look forward to working with our staff, volunteers, community partners, and local law enforcement agencies to enhance the quality of life for our community pets and citizens,” Seltz said.
