Former School Board Member charged with embezzlement, other crimes

Posted

Former Lansing School Board Member Nicole Armbruster has been charged with one count of embezzlement and six counts of uttering and publishing by the Ingham County Prosecutor’s office. All seven charges are felonies.

Armbruster, 35, resigned from the Lansing School Board Jan 19. She said it was for personal reasons. At the time City Pulse reported she was facing a criminal investigation related to her position at the Lewton Elementary School PTA.

WLNS, a City Pulse media partner, reported Monday night that Armbruster had been charged in Circuit Court last week. She will be back in court this week.

Uttering and publishing is a crime related to writing bad checks or altering other financial related or public documents. Each Uttering charge could result in a prison sentence of 14 years.

It is unclear what the specifics of the embezzlement charge are, making it unclear what the prison time could be if she is convicted.
