Why is physical fitness important in your life?

The main importance of physical fitness in my life is, health, feeling great and longevity. I grew up in the ‘70s with a father who was a runner. He worked out regularly, made fresh juice and ate flax seed and wheat germ.  The inclination for fitness and health had begun to set in before I gave any thought to its benefits.

Describe your fitness routine:

I train at the Michigan Athletic Club, five days a week. Three days of weight training and two days of cardiac exercise, including kettlebell and high intensity boot camp.

How do you stay motivated to maintain your fitness?

My motivation at this point, after 20 years of regular exercise, is the great feeling of exercise itself. If I feel I’m coming down with something, my first reaction is to head to the gym and kick my body into battle mode. But for those just starting out, I would suggest that be benefits of having less stress, sleeping better and simply feeling good all the time should be your motivation.
