Actor Tim Busfield to lead workshop at East Lansing Public Library

THURSDAY, AUG. 6 — Actor/director Tim Busfield, best known for his work on “Thirtysomething” and “The West Wing,” is teaming up with the East Lansing Public Library to present a Performing Arts Warm-Up open to grades K through 12.

Busfield, an Emmy award-winning actor and an East Lansing High School graduate, has more than 650 professional credits to his name. He is also the founder of the award-winning B Street Theater in Sacramento, Calif., and also created the B Street Intern Training Program. He has had more than 75 lead roles in professional plays and has directed more than 125, acted in more than 250 and served as executive producer of more than 125 episodes of television. The Performing Arts Warm-Up is a chance for youth in the area to learn from his extensive experience.

On both days, elementary to high school actors, singers, dancers, playwrights, screenwriters, set painters, stage managers and filmmakers will learn the tricks of the trade from an experienced Hollywood veteran.
