Posted

TUESDAY, AUG. 18 — Looking for a way to get your song out into the world? The City of East Lansing is providing singers and musicians one more chance to share their music on an open-air stage with its Third Wednesday Open Mic.

Local singer/songwriter Jen Sygit will be hosting the season’s final Third Wednesday Open Mic tomorrow night. Sygit, who has three albums under her belt, tours regionally and is host of the popular open mic at Dagwood’s Tavern in Lansing.

Performance slots are available to any interested musicians, including solo and groups of all levels. Musicians will have a two-song limit. Performance slots are on a first come, first serve basis, so interested participants are encouraged to sign up at 6:30 p.m. for the outdoor open mic experience. All ages and all genres of family friendly music are welcomed.

A PA is provided, as well as a guitar and an smartphone/mp3 player hookup with a 1/8-inch connection for prerecorded accompaniments. The event is free, and the public is invited to bring lawn chairs or enjoy the music from one of the nearby restaurant patios.
