What's up in Lansing: Tai Chi and more

Here's what's going on in town today

Posted

Good day on this Spring-like Monday.

Originally a martial art used for fighting foes, Tai Chi is today used to fight off stress. This practice, often described as "meditation in motion," involves slow movements paired with deep breathing. There is little impact or strenuous movement involved, so it is considered good exercise for people of many ages and abilities.

A weekly class, Tai Chi for Arthritis and Health, is offered weekly at Grace Lutheran Church. The seven-week series ends on the 28th. Tai Chi is also practiced at Allen Market Place, 1619 E. Kalamazoo St., Saturday mornings at 9 a.m.
