Good day on this mostly sunny Tuesday.

Lansing's occult-themed comedy trio, Comedy Coven, performs their monthly show tonight. The group mixes stand-up and sketch-based comedy in a creative, witch-themed show. Check out City Pulse's preview of the show here.

The Historical Society of Greater Lansing hosts civil rights activist Robert L. Green, a friend and colleague of Martin Luther King Jr., for a lecture and book signing event Tuesday. Green’s lecture will focus largely on his new memoir, “At the Crossroads of Fear and Freedom,” which reveals behind-the-scenes stories of the campaigns that helped end the South’s infamous Jim Crow laws. Green served as educational director for King’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference and was head of MSU’s urban studies program in the 1960s. Green also worked on education initiatives with the Kennedy administration and recently served as a participant at an education summit lead by the Obama administration. To read more about Green, check out the City Pulse article by Bill Castanier. 7 p.m. FREE. Capitol Area District Library Downtown Branch, 401 S. Capitol Ave., Lansing. The nationally acclaimed dance troupe Complexions Contemporary Dance hits the Wharton Center stage Tuesday. The company was founded by veteran dancers Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, both former members of Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. The evening’s wide-ranging performances will be set to music by Odetta, Vivaldi, and Metallica and even the words of poet Maya Angelou. A preview talk by Richardson is presented at 6:45 p.m. in the Grand Tier Lounge, and a chat with the performers follows the performance. 7:30 p.m. $28/$15 students and youths 5-18.
