Eastwood eatery to stay

MONDAY, Jan. 18 — The Max & Erma’s restaurant in Eastwood Town Centre will remain open, despite closings elsewhere across the Midwest by the chain’s owner, American Blue Ribbon Holding Inc.

Crain’s Detroit Business reported today that the company is closing 13 Max and Erma’s locations in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. But an employee at the local Max & Erma’s said it is staying open.

“It wasn’t immediately known how many local employees are affected by the closings,” Crain’s reported. The business publication also reported that an American Blue Ribbon Holdings representative was at each restaurant to deliver the news and offer employees severance packages.
