Good day on this partly cloudy Monday.
A traveling museum makes its way to Lansing today, bringing a collection of rare items related to African American history. The Black History 101 Mobile Museum, founded and curated by educator Khalid el-Hakim, stops at Sparrow with an assortment of items related to everything from slavery, the Civil Rights movement, hip hop and beyond. The museum, which includes things like newspapers, magazines, historical documents and music memorabilia, travels the country throughout the year. Today's stop is a one-day affair before the collection packs up and moves along to its next destination.
