What's up in Lansing: Lansing City Market fun and more

Here's what's going on in town this weekend

Posted

Good day and happy weekend.

Though spring-like weather has been a little shy so far this season, the weekend brings a host of activities to get families outdoors.

With a whopping 2,000 candy-filled eggs dotting the riverfront, the Lansing City Market offers an afternoon of egg hunts, dancing, food, live music and more for all ages. Activities kick off in the morning with face painting, live bunny petting with Preuss Pets, arts and crafts and a duck pond. MI Chicks with Picks serenades with acoustic songs while families enjoy a lunch from Red's Smokehouse or Waterfront Bar & Grill. Radio personality Tim Barron emcees. At 12:30, Platinum Dance Academy teaches kids the bunny hop and chicken dance — perfect for staying in character with the free bunny ears passed out at the event. At 1:15 the egg hunts begin, with different time for each age group. Kids need to bring their own baskets for stashing their finds. Saturday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Lansing City Market, 325 City Market Drive, Lansing. lansingcitymarket.com/events.
