What's up in Lansing: Kids in kitchens, Beerfests in ballparks and more

Junior League of Lansing has its annual Kids in the Kitchen Day Saturday, sponsored by Jackson National Life. The event aims to combat rising rates of childhood obesity with fun and interactive activities that celebrate healthy lifestyle choices. Games for parents and kids are available. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. FREE. Cooley Law School Stadium, home of the Lansing Lugnuts, hosts the third annual Beerfest at the Ballpark Saturday. The outdoor festival features brews from 60 Michigan breweries, as well as cider, mead, spirits and wine offerings. The festival also includes live music from the Black Barn Band, Donny Brown and Mark Warner. The stadium food concourse will be open for hungry drinkers. Local women a chance to check out some fun products for a good cause Saturday at the Women’s Expo 2016. The event, hosted by UAW’s Region 1-D Women’s Council, features vendors like Faith Pillow, Pink Zebra, Pampered Chef and more.
