Eye for design

East Lansing

Alois Sandner of Lansing was the first person to correctly identify the April 27 “Eye for Design,” noting that the detail “can be found on one-time apothecary shop” on the corner of Washington Square and Allegan Street.

In addition to the the featured detail, which shows a pharmaceutical mortar and pestle, another glazed terra cotta ornament in the upper cornice identifies this building as the former C. J. Rouser Drug Co.

The first person to correctly identify the location of the detail above, which is in East Lansing, will receive a City Pulse Eye for Design mug. Send your answer to debollman@comcast.net by Wednesday, June 8.
