Here's what's going on in town today

Posted

Good day on this hot and cloudy Friday.

Arts Night Out returns to REO Town this evening. Check out City Pulse's preview of the traveling monthly event here.

JazzFest also gets underway tonight, featuring a diverse slate of artists ranging from intimate duos and trios to a bombastic brass band and a full salsa group. Lawrence Cosentino talks with some of the performers here.

Two artists from Beacon, N.Y., discuss their exhibit of wall art today at East Lansing’s Mackerel Sky Gallery. The exhibit, created by Robert and Jacqueline Rickard, features wall hangings made by carving designs into sand-blasted aluminum sheets. The exhibit is on display until Sept. 20. 5-8 p.m. Mackerel Sky Gallery, 211 M.A.C. Ave., East Lansing. (517) 351-2211, mackerelsky.com.
