TUESDAY, Sept. 13 — As Lansing City Market wraps up its Grand Concert Series, this week, attendees will have a chance to check out the market’s latest addition, Guyton’s Heirloom Bistro. The Southern-style restaurant held a soft opening earlier this week and plans to offer a full menu by October. For tomorrow and Thursday’s concerts, the restaurant will offer a sweet and savory waffle bar, including options like a cornbread waffle topped with Colby jack cheese, green scallions and smoked bacon lardon or a red velvet cake waffle with cream cheese frosting.
Tomorrow’s concert features local smooth jazz saxophonist Phil Denny, and Thursday features Lansing stalwarts Frog & the Beeftones. The concerts are free; attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Other City Market businesses, including the Waterfront Bar & Grill and Red’s Smokehouse, will stay open late to provide food and beverages.
