Local galleries offer holiday gift ideas

Posted

With the holidays just around the corner, local art galleries are turning into pop-up gift shops, offering affordable, artsy gift ideas.

The Lansing Art Gallery’s 2016 Holiday Exhibition, which kicked off Friday, offers fine art and modern craft from over 100 Michigan makers. The downtown gallery offers everything from paintings and ceramics to handmade soap and beard combs.

Over in East Lansing, Grove Gallery and Studios launched its Holiday Art Show and Sale Nov. 4. The holiday exhibition includes stationery and cards by Sara Pulver, ceremics by Doug DeLind, paintings by Julian Van Dyke and much more.

MICA Gallery, on Turner Street in Old Town, opened its Art of Gifting exhibition Nov. 4. The gallery describes its holiday shop at an “Etsy style boutique” featuring ceramics, jewelry, cards, paintings and more.
