What's up in Lansing: Bird sanctuary and more

Here's what's going on in town today

Posted

Good day on this partly cloudy Monday.

Tucked in along the Grand River in northwest Lansing, Capital City Bird Sanctuary is a quiet nature preserve with a rich history of conservation. While the land has changed over the years, the mission for the property remains: provide healthy, safe refuge for birds and wildlife. Wild Ones Lansing, an advocacy group for natural landscapes, invites Lansing to a presentation by Michigan Audubon's Rachelle Roake. Roake offers an introduction to the sanctuary and the many volunteer-led efforts to conserve and enhance habitat for birds and people alike. 7-9 p.m. FREE. Fenner Nature Center, 2020 E. Mount Hope Ave., Lansing. (517) 887-0596, wildoneslansing.org.
