Ingredients:
48 to 52 oz. of quality canned baked beans (such as Bush’s)
Two strips bacon
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tbsp. white vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup mustard
Dash of Tabasco sauce
Dash of salt and pepper
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Drain off and discard some of the liquid from the canned beans. Combine all ingredients except bacon in a bowl, mixing thoroughly. Transfer mixture to a bean pot or oven-proof casserole dish with a lid.
Lay bacon strips on top of the bean mixture and cover pot with lid. Bake in oven for two and a half hours. Beans will be done when the bacon is cooked. Optional: Remove lid for the last 20 minutes, allowing bacon to crisp a bit and for a “skin” to form on top of the beans.
