Alessia Cara, KYLE added to Common Ground 2017

WEDNESDAY, March 15 — Pop singer/songwriter Alessia Cara will headline July 6, the opening night of this year’s Common Ground Music Festival, the festival announced this morning.

The 20-year-old Canadian singer performer has been making waves on pop radio since her debut single, “Here,” reached the top 5 on U.S. radio charts and was named one of the 50 best songs of 2015 by Rolling Stone. She was awarded Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2016 Juno Awards and followed it with opening for Coldplay on the European and North American legs of the band’s A Head Full of Dreams tour.

Performing a late-night set on July 6 is hip-hop artist KYLE. Most recently known for his single “iSpy,” featuring Lil Yachty, KYLE has also collaborated with artists like Kehlani, G-Eazy, and Chance the Rapper.

“Say You Won’t Let Go” singer / songwriter James Arthur; pop singer/songwriter Phoebe Ryan, recently featured on “All We Know” with the Chainsmokers; and Michigan native Olivia Millerschin have also been added to the lineup for July 6.

In November, Common Ground announced that country superstar Toby Keith will headline July 7. Formerly a six-day festival, this year’s festival has been shortened to four days, July 6 through 9.

Single Day Tickets for July 6 go on-sale to the public on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online at commongroundfest.com.
