Eye for Design

East Lansing

Stephen Dothage of Lansing was the first person to correctly identify the April 11 as 109 West Michigan Ave. in Lansing, adding that it “houses the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.” A careful study of the glazed terra cotta panels on the building reveals a caduceus, which is often used as a symbol of the medical profession. The combined concrete block and header brick detail above may be found in East Lansing. The first person to correctly identify the location of the detail will receive a City Pulse Eye for Design mug. Send your answer to daniel@eastarbor.com by May 16.

“Eye for Design” is our weekly look at some of the nicer properties in Lansing. It rotates each with Eye candy of the Week and Eyesore of the Week. If you have a suggestion, please e-mail eye@lansingcitypulse.com or call Berl Schwartz at 999-5061.
