East Lansing launches photo contest

THURSDAY, AUG. 30 — A local photography contest could land someone with an easy $100.

The City of East Lansing this week announced its 2018 Community Photo Contest. All ages are invited to show off their skills by submitting up to five photos taken around East Lansing during any season. Top prizes include Meijer gift cards and downtown parking vouchers.

The entry deadline is midnight on Oct. 14.

Submissions, which will be later used in marketing materials, must be high resolution and shouldn’t be significantly edited. Participants do not need to be a resident of East Lansing to enter, but their photos must be taken within city limits. Winners will contacted after the deadline and asked to fill out appropriate release forms.

“This is a great opportunity for community members of all ages and abilities to show off their skills at photography, while also showing us what they love about the East Lansing community,” said East Lansing Communications Coordinator Mikell Frey.
