Theio’s, the longtime Lansing 24-hour diner that served hungover college students and late night patrons, was demolished Wednesday morning.

The business ended its four decades of history in the area early this year, being condemned for electrical problems in March. For 24 years, owner Nick Mangopoulos ran the business until selling it in 2017 to Kim Cha Uebel, who sold it to final owner Virginia Pulido.

Theio’s coffee cups displayed an inscription declaring the restaurant, “The place where the sun never sets.”
