Helping hands Williamston studio aims to relieve tension

Having trouble staying loose? The Massage Studio, a new business at 1232 E. Grand River Ave.,
Williamston, is here to help. The studio offers Swedish, deep tissue,
athletic and reflexology massages and more, with prices ranging from
$60 an hour for a regular, relaxation massage, to $75 an hour for hot
stone therapy. Owner Michelle Jump originally startedthe massage business out of the back of a salon, but an increasing customer base led her to open her own studio.

Jump said a lot of the studio’s work is in physical therapy and rehabilitation, rather than just the pampering people expect at a spa. “Massage is not just for when you’ve hurt your back,” Jump says. “It increases circulation, range of motion and helps athletic injuries.

“All of our independent contractors are state certified, and we work hard to provide a professional, yet relaxing environment,” she said. The Massage Studio is open by appointment only, Monday through Saturday.
