Observe the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day Monday with the Lansing Area AIDS Network and Kresge Art Museum. The LAAN will host a special community program at East Lansing’s Hannah Community Center focused on educating and building awareness about AIDS and featuring Chris Singer, spokesman for Nyaka AIDS Orphan School in Uganda, and members of the Lansing community who will speak about their everyday experiences living with HIV/AIDS. A candlelit vigil in remembrance of those who have died of AIDS follows the program. Also on Monday, Kresge Art Museum will display a 12-foot-by-12-foot panel from the AIDS memorial quilt (a different portion is pictured right.) The LAAN program is free and begins at 11 a.m. at the Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road, East Lansing. For more information, contact Nancy English of the Lansing Area AIDS Network at (517) 394-3719 ext.29 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
