Third annual Studio Crawl happens Thursday

Have you ever driven by that big green building on Cleveland
St. in Lansing and wondered to yourself, “What the heck is in there?” Here’s
    your chance to find out.

On Thursday, April 22 the third annual Studio Crawl,
sponsored by the Mid-Michigan Creative Alliance, gives you the chance to visit
12 different studios, including advertising agencies, print shops, photography
    studios and film production houses.

Dominic Cochran, cinematographer and partner of Ahptic Film
& Digital (the big green building on Cleveland), said the Studio Crawl is
an opportunity to encourage people to see the creative side of Lansing.

“It’s an opportunity for our members to open their doors to
the public,” Cochran said. “Normally, our businesses are appointment-based, for
    our clients.”

When you pay the $7 fee, you get a map of each business and
where they are located. You drive to each business on the map, and at each
business you get a raffle ticket. After the crawl, there’s an after-party in
Room 319 of Gillespie Group’s Stadium District Suite; refreshments will be
served and raffle prizes will be given away, including some Lansing Lugnuts

The Studio Crawl includes: Ahptic Film & Digital,
CiesaDesign, Foresight Group, Hranilovich Illustration, MessageMakers, Motion
Marketing & Media, Pace & Partners, Perspective 2, Queue Advertising,
Redhead Design Studio, Rizzi Designs, LLC and Traction. Also included are
works from Michigan State University students in the college of communication
arts and sciences. The students rented out a space in Old Town to display their

“The Crawl is oriented toward the general public,” Cochran
said. “It’s a common thing that people drive by and wonder what these
businesses are. So this is a chance for them to see the work that gets done.”

The Studio Crawl begins at 2 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m.,
    with the after-party from 6-8 p.m.
