From the stage at Mac’s Bar, to the open air at Common Ground Music Festival, local music supporters could have a busy week.

While its official release isn’t until July 20, Bermuda Mohawk Productions will host the Frank and Earnest "Old Francis” EP release show on Friday. Frank and Earnest consists of ex- and current members of the Lansing-based Cartridge Family, The Tease, Hell or Highwater and Shoelace. F&E combine clever storytelling about Midwestern life with a dose of wit and attitude.

The release show will also feature headliners The Riot Before (Richmond, Va.) and Nothington (Oakland, Calif.) Opening acts are Shark Week and Due North.

For those who support local hip hop, be sure to get your pass to Common Ground for Saturday. Local MCs Ward Skillz, Big Perm, Yung Rich and .Kom will warm up the Capitol Region International Airport Stage for Ludacris and Three Six Mafia. Gates open at 4 p.m, show starts at 7 p.m.

Delta blues and one-man-band enthusiasts should take note that Bob Log the III is headed to Mac’s Bar in Lansing on Aug. 2. Since 1996, Bob Log has been touring the world playing his spastic brand of primal, solo blues. Not to mention his stage attire that consists of a shiny, tight jumpsuit and an equally flashy motorcycle helmet. Fans of Son House, Robert Johnson and The White Stripes may want to look into this electric show. Opening the show is grRoPoLis (Grand Rapids).
