Virg at Art's

The mayor has a new gig and does a CNN interview at Art’s Bar in Lansing

Friday, Nov. 19 — Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero’s deputy chief of staff revealed today that Bernero will appear weekly on the Fox Business Network show “Follow the Money” with host Eric Bolling every Tuesday, starting next week.

“Tuesdays with Virg” and will be a “five-minute throw down over whatever they want to talk about,”
Randy Hannan, the mayor’s deputy chief of staff, said.

“It should be fun,” Hannan said. “I need to think of a topic for next week.”

You might recall Bernero’s interview last week on “Follow the Money,” when he vehemently defended his position of taking campaign contributions from large labor groups.

It was getting close to happy hour, and the after-work crowd at Art’s Bar on Kalamazoo Street was treated to an appearance by Bernero, who was being interviewed for the Parker Spitzer show on CNN.

It was hard to discern what Bernero was talking about with former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer on the other end of the connection, but it had something to do with General Motors being back on the New York Stock Exchange, manufacturing and Gross Domestic Product. The patrons’ socializing was drowning out the interview.

The show will air at 8 p.m.

Hannan said he chose Art's as an interview location because it's "Lansing's quintessential watering hole."
