Located just north of Lansing on U.S. 27, the small shop with big glass windows continues to offer friendly service and quality meds.
Meds are pre-bagged and grams cost $15 each. The Great White Shark, an indica-dominant hybrid from the famous Green House Seed Co. in Holland, was a really nice smoke. The heavily trichome-covered buds smelled fruity but not intense and tasted the same. Right away, the high was noticeable upstairs but seemed to spread throughout the body.
I also sampled the Northern Lights/Kush blend. This strain is naturally indica-dominant but has noticeable sativa qualities from the Northern Lights side of its genetics. The buds were thick with a mostly sweet, piney smell. The taste was less sweet than it smelled, but it was an easy smoke — far from harsh on the lungs. The buzz was relaxing but not enough to pin you on the couch. This would be a great daytime strain for pain patients.
Super Silver Lemon Haze, better known as Super Lemon Haze, is another strain from the famous Green House Seed Co. that Compassionate Caregivers offers. This strain is well known for its fruity, lemony smell and taste as well as its strong and balanced high. Having seen and reviewed this popular strain previously, Compassionate Caregivers’ SLH did not disappoint.
Aside from raw meds, Compassionate Caregivers also has a variety of tasty medibles. That includes fruit-flavored suckers, brownies, cookies and cereal bars.
In the other half of the shop, patients and caregivers can check out clones of Purple Kush, AK-47 and White Pearl to take home and grow themselves. The clones looked like they were on their way to a healthy vegetative state. Clones are $25 each or 6 for $125.
Compassionate Caregivers is a small shop, just a little bit out of the way, but certainly worth the trip. Service is friendly and quick, and the products are always medical grade. If not for the meds or clones, stop in to check out the cool pipes made from Petoskey stones — a true homage to medical marijuana in Michigan.
