Record Lounge hosts Middle of the Mitten

The Record Lounge, an East Lansing vinyl record shop, hosts the 3rd Annual Middle of the Mitten, a rock showcase for Michigan bands. The concert takes place at The Loft in downtown Lansing on Saturday, Jan. 29. Twelve area rock bands, and acoustic acts will perform.

This year’s lineup includes a long list of local indie rock, punk and singer/songwriters. Bands on the main stage will play 40-minute sets, with acoustic acts performing shorter sets on a secondary stage during the usual lull for set-up and tear-down.

The concert, which also includes raffles at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., was started by Record Lounge employee Joel “Hodge” Heckaman. On Thursday, Jan. 27, The Impact (88.9-FM) airs live performances and interviews from Life Size Ghost and Elliot Street Lunatic.
