Moratoriums and religion

While it’s commendable to take time implementing medical cannabis (marijuana) dispensaries for the benefit of sick citizens (“E.L. Dispensary Regulations on Hold,” Feb. 16, 2011 [online]), it’s unacceptable moratoriums are rooted in efforts to stop them. Another reason to help sick citizens have access to cannabis that doesn’t get mentioned is because it is Biblically correct since God, The Ecologician indicates He created all the seed bearing plants saying they are all good, on literally the very first page (see Genesis 1:11-12 and 29-30). The only restriction placed on cannabis is to accept it with thankfulness (1 Timothy 4:1-5). And, "But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?" (1 John 3:17).

Open carriers ’round the bend’

Shotguns in the Capitol Area District Library? Are these people totally round the bend? When did you last see a bear or a wild dog in the library ("The most dangerous library in the world?" 2/16/11)?

A library is no place for guns. Guns and their people are dangerous: according to data from the CDC there were about 30,000 firearms-related deaths in the US in 2005; that’s 82 a day. Let’s keep our libraries safe! I, for one, will not be visiting the CADL if people with guns are likely to show up.
