Theory of a Dead Man also plays Common Ground

Melissa Etheridge and Vancouver rockers Theory of a Dead Man are the latest bookings for July´s Common Ground Music Festival in Lansing´s Adado Riverfront Park.

Etheridge, whose hits include "Come to My Window" and "I´m the Only One," performs July 17. Etheridge´s latest album, "Fearless Love," was released in May. "At 48, she certainly has plenty of rocking ahead of her; in fact, she’s looking and sounding as good as she has in some time, and her voice remains a gale-force instrument," wrote Pop Matters critic Steve Leftridge

Theory of a Dead Man, which plays July 15 at Common Ground, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart with "Bad Girlfriend" in 2008. The band releases its fourth album, "The Truth Is...," July 12; the first single, "Lowlife," is slated for release later this month.

Single-day Common Ground tickets — priced at $29 — go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, at StarTickets outlets, at the festival office at 901 N. Washington Ave., or by calling (800) 585-3737. A seven-day ticket is $79.

The 12th annual festival runs from July 11 to 17

Previously announced performers include Trey Songz, winner of BET’s 2010 best male R&B artist, who performs July 11. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Lynyrd Skynyrd are scheduled for July 14.
