KGB

After ringing a doorbell for entry, KGB has a small waiting room where your credentials are checked. I had visited KGB several times before doing this review, and the staff is helpful and friendly in letting you know if something new has just come in that’s a must-try.

On a recent Saturday morning, KGB’s selection had shrunk a little since the last time I visited, though it had a line of sativas, indicas and hybrids. A sales associate directed me to the G-13, while I picked the Apollo.

I first tried the G-13 indica and, for once, was pleasantly surprised — normally I do not care for this strain’s flavor. However, this sample was fruity and sweet instead of the bland G-13 results I’m used to. Also, I normally have to sample a whole gram to get the desired physical effects with G-13, while this time a half-gram did the trick.

I was as hungry as a tiger, not too sleepy and my back pain was no longer was bothering me. I may be back for more of KGB’s quality G-13.

The Apollo is a sativa-heavy hybrid. Upon inhaling, I noticed that my joint burned with a crackling sizzle. It tasted good and burned well, but I was  turned off by what must have been leftovers from the synthetic fertilizing regiment not being properly flushed.  I don’t think I’d get the Apollo again until the sizzle goes away. The effects were a very heady, social high that was short-lived — 45 minutes to an hour. The Apollo, too, stimulated the appetite.

KGB has great prices on strains, which start at $10 a gram. Ounces are also available at fair prices. The shop is small, which likely comes with less overhead. I think this allows KGB to operate more efficiently and keep prices fair and I tip my hat to them for that. Some of the strains could have looked better,  but at least there were a couple winners on my visit.

For now, all KGB offers is raw cannabis and occasionally medibles. But my experience was pleasant and I’ll be back for the reasonable prices and the comfort.
