10 Years of City Pulse

Posted

Since the City Pulse's first publication was released 10 years ago, I have become an avid fan, eagerly awaiting the publication of each issue! The Pulse is an important alternative news source for the Lansing area, providing extensive and insightful reporting on the daily issues in our community. In today's sound bite news media, I look to the Pulse not only for coverage of issues that are important to me as a State Representative and resident, but also to become better aware of community issues that need to be addressed. I admire the bold nature of the Pulse's writing staff, which is comprised of reporters who are unafraid to take risks in order to give readers a complete story. This paper is so much more than news: it is a provocative, entertaining, and always enlightening tool that has kept Lansing residents informed for 10 successful years.

Congratulations to everyone at the City Pulse on your 10th anniversary! This marks 10 years of excellence in journalism and commitment to the people of Lansing. I extend my appreciation to publisher Berl Schwartz for taking a chance on an alternative newspaper for Lansing — we are a better informed community because of your presence!
