Wednesday, Nov. 11 — Dancer/choreographer Jose Porcel will give uncoordinatedMidwestern hip-shakers a crash course in rhythm when he brings “Gypsy Fire” tothe Wharton Center Tuesday.
Porcel, formerly of the National Ballet of Spain, learnedfolkloric dances and flamenco when he was a teenager. The flamenco he and hiscompany Compania Flamenca perform is said to be the most traditional form ofthe dance, which comes from the Andalusia region in the south of Spain.
The program is preceded by a Preview Lecture 45 minutesbefore the performance and a question-and-answer session.
