Friday, Nov. 11 — The Michigan State Museum celebrates Veterans Day with an exhibit of posters from World War I. The material comes from the museum's historical collection, and runs through Nov. 20.
Originally known as Armistice Day — commemorating the signing of the armistice that ended
hostilities on the Western Front occurred at 11 a.m. on the 11th day of the eleventh month of 1918 — the holiday was rechristened Veterans Days after World War II to honor all members of all branches of the armed forces killed during combat.
The museum is located on West Circle Drive on the MSU Campus. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. For more information, call (517) 355-2370, or visit museum.msu.edu.
