Shake-up ahead in morning news?

Changes may be coming at WILX

Posted
Wednesday, Dec. 21 — Is David Andrews soon to become a morning man?
Reports are circulating that the longtime WILX anchor, who handles the 5 and 6 p.m. news shows, will be moving to mornings in mid-January (the NBC affiliate begins its news coverage at 5 a.m.), with Jason Colthorp and Lauren Evans taking over as the anchors of the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.
Andrews, a native of Appleton, Wisc., originally came to Lansing in 1986. He has been a TV journalist for more than 17 years. He is married to WFMK-FM morning show host Monica Harris.
WILX and CBS affiliate WLNS have been in a hotly contested ratings tug-of-war for years, particularly in the morning news race.
WILX news director Kevin Ragan could not be reached for comment.
