'Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World' screens Friday at Pasant Theatre

Thursday, March 22 —The film "Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World" will have a sneak preview at 6 p.m. Friday at the Wharton Center's Pasant Theatre; it premieres on PBS July 6 as part of the Arts Summer Festival. Producer Alexander Kronemer of Unity Productions Foundation will be attending.The screening is free, but guests need to RSVP and reserve tickets at islamicartlansing.eventbrite.com.

Narrated by Susan Sarandon, the documentary covers the diversity of Islamic art — including calligraphy, ceramics, carvings, paintings, sculptures and metal work — offering a glimpse into Islamic culture over the past 1,400 years and sharing the stories behind the artworks. It was produced and directed by Rob Gardner.
