Thursday, June 14 — Getting away for awhile is a snap at Mid Michigan Family Theatre this weekend: Carlos Perez's "Folk Tales for Fun" gives audiences a taste of stories from Norway, Egypt, Turkey, Germany and other countries. The world tour is led by The Navigator, who, with help from the language-savvy Decipher and the all-knowing I Don't Know, introduces a half-dozen fables and fairy tales from around the world.

"Folk Tales for Fun" has performances at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. Sundays through June 24. Tickets are $6 ($4 for pre-schoolers) and special Father's Day discounts will be available for the June 17 performance. Mid Michigan Family Theatre is located at 440 Frandor Ave., inside the Frandor Shopping Center. For more information, call (517) 339-2145, or email midmichfamilytheatre@gmail.com.
