Take a Taste of Downtown Saturday

Thursday, July 5 — Sample the food from many downtown restaurants — as well as some locally produced wine and beer — at Taste of Downtown, which happens Saturday in (where else?) downtown Lansing.

The event kicks off at 3 p.m. Vendors include Edmund’s Pastime, Capitol City Grille, Thai Village, Juice Nation, Troppo, Tavern on the Square and Anqi Sushi Express.

Musical performances include Lisa Smith (3-4 p.m.), Third Coast Steel (4:30- 5:30 p.m.), Lansing Unionized Vaudeville Spectacle (6- 6:30 p.m.) and The Square Pegz (7- 8 p.m.). A Kids Corner, sponsored by Impression 5, features face painting, balloon sculpture and other activities.

Tickets are $20 at the door for adults; $5 for children 2-12; free for children under 2. Adult tickets include four food tickets and, for those over 21, a glass for wine tasting. Tickets are available online at www.tasteofdowntown.org, or at the Downtown Lansing Inc. Office (401 S. Washington Square, Suite 101) until 5 p.m. Friday.
