Tuesday, Aug. 21 — Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero will facilitate a meeting between Walnut Neighborhood residents and Niowave at the Neighborhood Empowerment Center, 600 W. Maple St., Wednesday at 6 p.m.
A new dynamic has been added to the Niowave pole barn saga. The company has retained Bob Ford of Landscape Architects and Planners, a Lansing-based firm, to consult on aesthetic issues related to the pole barn addition.
The work of Landscape Architects and Planners can be seen throughout greater Lansing. They designed the Shigematsu Memorial Garden at Lansing Community College and the streetscape of downtown Williamston, among outdoor projects.
Bernero’s Chief of Staff Randy Hannan confirmed the mayor’s attendance and said Niowave retaining Ford is a sign of progress.
“They wouldn’t be engaging professionals in that area if they weren’t serious about moving forward,” he said. “It’s a positive sign and hopefully they’ll come up with some good ways to mitigate the neighbors’ concerns.”
