Registration open for Broad Museum grand opening

Posted

Friday, Oct. 5 — They’re still putting the finishing touches on the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, but the grand opening festivities are already being planned.

Michigan State University will soon be the home of the only art museum dedicated exclusively to contemporary art in the Midwest, and you can be among of the first sets of eyes to take it in.

At 10 a.m. on Nov. 10, a dedication ceremony will be followed by a tour of the new museum on the north side of MSU’s campus along Grand River Avenue. Eli Broad and architect Zaha Hadid will lead a conversation, followed by a reception and tour of the museum. Then at 7 p.m., you can join museum Director Michael Rush for a founding director’s reception. Tickets for this event are $150 per person.

The dedication ceremony is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required by Oct. 26. You can register here, or by emailing events@msu.edu or by calling (517) 884-1038.
