After M*A*S*H

Monday, Oct. 15 — “M*A*S*H” co-star and 1970s game show regular Jamie Farr will speak a week from today at the Lansing Town Hall speaker series, “Mondays with Meaning and Merriment.” 

Proceeds of the event will benefit the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Farr will speak to attendees about his years working in Hollywood, on Broadway and touring North American theaters. His lecture will last about an hour.

After his breakout role as the cross-dressing Cpl. Maxwell Klinger in the popular TV show, “M*A*S*H,” Farr, 78, has kept busy on stage and on the small screen. A full interview with the Toledo-born actor appears in this week’s City Pulse, and publisher Berl Schwartz will interview him on this week’s episode of “City Pulse on the Air,” which airs at 7 p.m. on Wednesday on 88.9 WDBM-FM.

Lansing Town Hall is a nonprofit organization benefitting the Lansing Symphony Orchestra that has brought celebrity lecturers to Lansing for almost 60 years. This season’s speakers include actor Steve Ford (son of President Gerald Ford), comedian Klea Blackhurst and journalist Robin Wright.

The Lansing Town Hall series is held at the Best Western Plus (formerly the Causeway Bay Hotel), 6820 S. Cedar St. in Lansing. Doors open at 10 a.m.; the lecture begins at 11 a.m. and is followed by lunch. Individual tickets are $30 and luncheon tickets are $20 with package discounts available.
