Hello Sun, hello Moon

Old Town announces line-up for festival entertainment, food

Posted

Thursday, June 13 — The Old Town Commercial Association announced its lineups for next Friday’s Festival of the Moon and next Saturday’s Festival of the Sun. The events feature both locally and nationally known bands and food from across the Lansing area.

Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to listen to the folksy rock ‘n’ roll tunes of Langhorne Slim, which is on its first national tour. Locally bred entertainers include singer/songwriter Taylor Taylor, the upbeat reggae of Billiards Music, the “Michigan-grass” twang of the Whiskey Pickers and Summer of Sol’s mash up of funk, blues, and R&B. Additionally, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers will get the crowd moving with its Motown-folk-pop-funk to the stage, and the Lansing Unionized Vaudeville Spectacle will entertain with its blend of theatricality and gypsy folk rock.

The Michigan Grape & Wine Industry Council will sponsor a wine pairing and I’m a Beer Hound is sponsoring a beer pairing. Tickets for these events will be an additional $30. Food from Restaurant Mediteran, Red Cedar Grill and Aggie Mae’s Bakery will also be offered. Daylong demonstrations sponsored by local home brewing business That’s How We Brew will also be part of the festivities.
