Grand Rapids burlesque group coming to Mac’s Bar Friday

Posted

Thursday, Oct. 24 — Super Happy Funtime, a Grand Rapids-based burlesque show, is heading to Mac’s Bar Friday, Oct. 25 for a little pre-Halloween fun. This live band/theatrical/circus crew has been entertaining audiences across Michigan for 10 years and have toured nationally for three. Their recent production, “ArtPrize the Musical,” spoofed the annual Grand Rapids art contest.

The group has appeared on ABC’s “America's Got Talent” and Comedy Central's version of “The Gong Show.” They’ve worked with members of Cirque Du Soleil, the Ringling Bros. Circus and director Richard Elfman (brother of film score composer Danny Elfman), who flew to Grand Rapids to collaborate with them on a stage production of his movie, “Forbidden Zone.”

And if you're on the fence, just check out one of these clips. One way or the other, you'll be able to make up your mind.
