(Pad)locks of love

Express yourself on the Feb. 12 cover of City Pulse

Posted

Wednesday, Jan. 22 — Lovers travel from around the world to memorialize their feelings for each other at the Ponts des Arts bridge outside the Louvre Museum in Paris. Once there, they will inscribe a padlock with a message of love, clip it onto the bridge’s chain-link fence and hurl the key into the Seine River below. Yes folks, never before has public littering been sweeter.

Can’t afford a ticket to Paris this Valentines Day to publicly express the eternity of your love? No worries: City Pulse will bring this curious and desperately romantic tradition to Lansing. On Feb. 12, we’ll transform our cover into a piece of the Ponts des Arts fence, letting your special someone, not to mention all 40,000 of our readers, know how you feel.

For $49.95, you can buy a “lock” and inscribe your personal message of love in a 1 -by-2-inch space on the cover. (Your sweetie may like it when you talk dirty, but keep it clean please.) Or for $29.95, you can dedicate a piece of Page 3 to your “cherie amour.”

There are only a limited number of spots available, so act quickly or you’ll be stuck trying to convince your snuggie-poo that your heart beats for them alone with (yawn) flowers, chocolates or stuffed animals. Love means never having to say, “I’m sorry I’m not more creative.”

To buy your lock or for more information, call Jonathan at (517) 999-5069 or send an email to jonathan@lansingcitypulse.com. And remember: Nothing says “I love you” than with the gift of the front page.
