WKAR’s live music series BackStage Pass returns for new season

Posted

Thursday, Jan. 30 — WKAR’s BackStage Pass, the award-winning televised concert series, returns Friday, January 31.  The fifth season will premiere with a show that Lansing-based indie rock group Elliot Street Lunatic performed at the Albert White Auditorium in East Lansing. The concert will showcase songs from the band's latest CD, “Ghost Town Lullabies.”

But fear not music lovers of differing genres, the season will roll on with a variety of musical stylings, including jazz, funk and blues. Each concert chosen was recorded live at concerts and festivals in mid-Michigan.

Each episode will premiere 9 p.m. Fridays, followed by two encore presentations at 1 a.m. Saturday: 1 a.m. on the same channel, and at 8 p.m. on WKAR World (channel 23.2 or, for Comcast, 28 and 288).

There will be a short break during early March before the show returns on March 21 with The Hard Lessons.

All episodes can be viewed OnDemand at video.wkar.org after each initial airing.
