‘First thoughts’ on Red Cedar project

Developers welcome community input for Red Cedar Renaissance project at public event Wednesday

Posted

Tuesday, Feb. 11 — Even though the project has been floated for over two years, developers and economic development officials are holding a “first thoughts” session Wednesday to gather public input on redeveloping 61 acres at the former Red Cedar Golf Course.

The session, set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lansing Center, will include presentations from developers Joel Ferguson and Frank Kass, the team leading the project, said Steve Willobee of the Lansing Economic Area Partnership.

In the coming weeks, officials will open a more formal charrette process, Willobee said, in which the public will have a chance to sketch design ideas. It’s unclear how much public input will be incorporated into the final design.
