Understanding the psychic world

Cosmic Connection Convention and Psychic Fair provides astrology classes, readings and more

The belief in the supernatural is usually not something most people talk about. This weekend, the 3-Day Cosmic Connection Convention and Psychic Fair will give you the chance to explore the unknown.

Lansing’s Hampton Inn on North Canal Street will host the event Friday, Saturday and Sunday; it’s open to the public. The convention will include everything from readings to beginner astrology classes to holistic health classes. Along with the classes, attendees may come anytime for a $10 reading.

Maria Shaw, an astrologer that has appeared in many papers and TV shows, is coordinating the event.

“It gives people a taste of a little bit of everything,” Shaw said. “The beginner astrology class will teach people how to read celebrity charts. There is also a paranormal investigation class, with a sance following.”

On Saturday, a Psychic Kids class takes place, where parents and children are welcome to come and talk about their intuitions. It will also teach parents how to support their child’s gift — for instance, some children retain knowledge of their past lives, according to Shaw.
