What to do this weekend

Choose from stand-up comedy, architecture appreciation, a tailgate party and a photography class

Friday, Sept. 13 — Four events this weekend will appeal to a wide range of interests, from the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright to getting up close and personal with mid-Michigan wildlife.

— On Saturday, the MSU Community Music School celebrates its 20th anniversary with a free tailgate at the school’s new home, 4930 S. Hagadorn Road in East Lansing. — Also on Saturday, the Eco- Photo Excursion at Fenner Nature Center is a special one-day event that combines classroom instruction with in-the-field photography lessons in one session. The class will be led by professional wildlife photographers Mark S. Carlson and Bob Grzesiak from Great Lakes Photo Tours, who will help photographers of all levels learn how to capture nature’s beauty from close up and afar. 10 a.m.–3 p.m. 2020 E. Mt. — On Sunday, the Greater Lansing Housing Coalition holds its 17th annual home tour. This time around, the tour will feature the area’s historic homes by Frank Lloyd Wright. The tour leaves from Dusty’s Wine Bar, 1839 W. Grand River Ave., Okemos at noon and travels throughout the Okemos area. At 4 p.m., there will will be an afterglow on Dusty’s Leelanau Patio with wine and cheese flight. Tour: $30, wine/cheese flight: $15. More info and tickets at glhc.org or 372-5980.
